Thanks to the hundreds of salons who joined me on our Facebook Live today. I’m following up with all of you to share the information and resources we discussed. If you missed the live, you can rewatch it here.

In these uncertain times, I want you to know that there is still a way to make money while you are closed. Here at Phorest, we are working harder than ever to provide you with the tools and resources you need to keep your business going, even in the hardest of situations.

I want to talk to you about the 3 steps salons can take to protect your cashflow over the next while. I truly believe that the salons who act now will be the ones bouncing back stronger than ever in weeks to come, and I also believe that Phorest can help you to do this.
  1. Cut Your Costs Right Now 
    Your first step when facing closure should be assessing all of your outgoings and making sure you are cutting all non-essential expenditure. The two biggest are RENT and SALARIES. Talk to your suppliers today if you haven’t already. We know keeping Phorest as part of your survival toolkit is essential to your future, so we are offering a 50% deferral of your bill until this crisis is over. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.
     
  2. Get Some Income Coming In 
    I can’t stress how important this one is. Many salons are finding success by driving initiatives to encourage customers to buy gift vouchers online. This will be available seamlessly in your Phorest system from the 1st of April, so please make sure you have this option enabled. If you are not sure how, your Business Advisor in Phorest, will be able to check and help you. Also, remember that gift vouchers aren’t generating revenue until they are redeemed - they are pre payments.

    You can also access free email and SMS templates in your system that have your online gift vouchers smart-linked and ready to go. Go to Marketing>Compose Email> Email Templates to find pre-made campaigns.

    Online gift vouchers were first rolled out in the USA, and one of our clients in Brooklyn, NY with a team of 11 took these steps and has had amazing success already.   3. Get Ready to Re-Open
    This might feel a long way off at the moment - and it might be overwhelming to think about preparing for re-opening today. That’s okay. We’ll be here for you when you are ready with fresh marketing templates, online bookings, we can build your salon app and provide you with the resources to make sure your salon is opening up with the right social distancing measures in place. People will be ready and flocking to get their treatments done when this global crisis ends. Your business will be in a place to thrive again and we will be here throughout to support you.
