Welcome to the September edition of the DASH Newsletter.

This month we have lots of good news including an exciting funding announcement, DASH reaches over 50% of the Crowdfunder target and there's a reminder of how to apply for the Artist Mentoring service as well as  how to request Access Support for your ACE funding application.

DASH Funding Announcement

DASH is excited to announce the receipt of funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, to help us to continue our work supporting Disabled artists through the pandemic. Thanks to the Government for making this possible.

DASH Crowdfunder Reaches Halfway Mark

Embrace by Nancy Willis. Two naked people hold each other in a tender embrace. The central figure is painted in pale yellow and is seted in a wheelchair. They reach upwards and appear to pull the second figure into them. The second figure in green is standing and wraps their body around the seated figure. Their faces are close and intimate. The figures are central to the image against a background burnt orange in colour.

We are so excited to be part of the Aviva Community Fund and the Crowdfunder is going well.

We have now reached 50% of our target but still need help with donations and to spread the word.

Here are what of some our supporters have said during our campaign:

"What incredible work on display - I'm delighted to support this campaign that enables these talented artists to thrive."

"During a pre-pandemic project with Shrewsbury Abbey I saw what confidence and joy Sarah and DASH gave to young people. Inspirational."

"DASH supported me. I supported DASH"

"Fairer World by Georgia Murphy says it all. Best of luck with the campaign DASH!"

You can learn more about our work, the campaign and the fabulous rewards on offer by visiting our Crowdfunder page. Please take a look and keep sharing.
DASH ARTIST MENTORING - SPACES AVAILABLE
A black board with a quote written in white chalk by Henri Matisse, "Creativity takes courage."
DASH is continuing to support Disabled visual artists with their development and to counter the impact that covid-19 and the subsequent changes to our way of life has had.

There are now spaces available for this popular service and Mike is offering phone/skype/zoom mentoring on a first come first served basis to any Disabled visual artist across the UK.

There will be a maximum of 3 sessions plus a short introductory session where you will decide the topics you want to cover. Each session will last up to 2 hours and can be spread over several months.

If you are interested then please contact Artistic Director, Mike Layward at mike@dasharts.org for more information.
