It turns out we're still getting used to working from home!
Here's our revised newsletter with our updated Dog of the Month. Enjoy :)

New Daily Schedule:
Wake up.
Hug the dog.
Have a good day.

To our Lakeshore PAWS family and friends,

Life looks a lot different than it did a few months ago. Most of our daily schedules have been hijacked and our lives unhinged. I'm here to tell you that Lakeshore PAWS is with you and that we will be enacting temporary precautions and procedures to ensure your safety.

Due to the “Shelter in Place” mandate for the COVID-19 pandemic, Lakeshore PAWS will be working in a very limited capacity and closed to the public until April 30th. We are trying to remain flexible and understand that this date is dependent on the national and global climate in the next few weeks.

To mitigate risk and do our part to maintain the safety of our community, we are currently postponing all events and will not be allowing adoptions. If you are looking to adopt and would like to view our available dogs, visit us online at www.lakeshorepaws.org or click here. We would love to schedule you for a meet and greet at the center as soon as we are back in full swing!

Although we appreciate in-kind donations such as food, dog beds and blankets, we cannot accept them at this time due to sanitary reasons. If you would like to make a contribution, we are always in need of monetary donations. Donations can be made online, mailed to Lakeshore PAWS at 4611 Evans Avenue, or through Facebook.

If you have any questions or need assistance, you can email us at info@lakeshorepaws.org and someone will get back to you within 24 hours. If you have lost a pet, please call your local animal shelter. You can also email us a description of your pet so that we can spread the word on our Facebook page.

We love being a part of this community. We stand with you through the good times and the uncertain times, and we know we will get through this together. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Gratefully Yours,
Jeanne Sommer
co-founder and executive director

Volunteer of the Month,
Lori Gilliana

We can't think of a volunteer more deserving of this title! Lori has fostered three mamas AND their litters over the past few months! She took such great care of the moms and pups, expertly giving them the time to adjust to their new environment while still managing to socialize them to ensure they grow up friendly, loving and kind.

Lori comes to the adoption center daily to walk the dogs, mop the kennels, scrub the dishes, do the laundry, organize ALL of the things...we could go on!

Lori has been a lifesaver these last few months. We are so grateful to have her as a Lakeshore PAWS volunteer!

Dog of the Month,
Coco Chanel

Hi every one, my name is Coco Chanel and I'm a 3 year old Pit Mix.

My previous owner became homeless and was unable to care for me, but they wanted me to have the best life possible and want me to thrive in a new home where I will be spoiled. There are some wonderful facts about me that you should know. I'm a vocal girl, but that's just because I want your attention. Some of my favorite things include car rides, head rubs, and belly rubs. I will need a fenced in yard so I can run and play! Stuffed animals are really fun to chew up, so maybe I shouldn't have those. I would love to spend my days playing with you and then cuddling afterwards.

I don't like being in a kennel. I'd rather have free roam of the house. When it comes to cats I'm a little too interested, but I don't mind friendly and respectful dogs. I really just want to find a family that will love me forever and ever and hopefully they will spoil me.

Love, Coco Chanel
