Story Writing for your Littles

So much attention is placed on writing in third and fourth grade, but little ones are bursting with story ideas too. Childhood is full of opportunities to nurture a child's imagination through storytelling...which is one of the many steps to story writing. Have fun creating exciting characters, settings and stories with your child in this "How to" Video accompanied by a downloadable storyboard worksheet.

How to Write a Story with your Preschooler
Before you know it, your little one will be old enough to be a professionally published author or illustrator at iWRITE!
For some inspiration, The Uglified Ducky is a great book to read to your littles alongside this activity. It is told by a baby moose and shows how perfectly imperfect story writing can be.

Be sure to post your child's storyboard worksheet online and use the hashtag #iWRITEathome so we can see the fun stories they have come up with!
