BBR Spring Concert Season Cancelled

As I am sure you are all aware, performing arts organizations (and all things that involve a live audience) are being hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, and are having to make some very difficult decisions about the coming months. BBR is no exception to this, and we have concluded that the most responsible thing to do for our members, our audience, and for the community at large is to cancel the entirety of our spring and early summer concert calendar. This also involves calling off the Boston Handbell Festival in May, and most likely delaying our ongoing recording project until next year.
We are very sad to have to take these steps, especially since music and community are normally so vital to people in times of stress. However, the unique circumstances of the current crisis call for unusual steps from all of us, and we are determined to do what we can to help limit the spread of the virus. As of right now, the plans for our August Summer Ring and our normal winter season have not changed, and we greatly hope that circumstances will allow us to welcome you later this year. We will update our website with new information as the situation continues to evolve, so please don’t forget to check back occasionally.
In the meantime, please keep in mind the many arts organizations, non-profits, and small businesses which will have a difficult time surviving a prolonged economic shutdown. If you have the means, please consider donating to those you would like to still be around when things return to normal. And most importantly, please keep yourself, your loved ones, and the vulnerable members of the community around you safe and healthy.
