A Short Interview with Rev. Tyrel Bramwell

Pastor Bramwell of St. Mark’s in Ferndale is one of my favorite pastors in Northern California. He’s always trying new things, learning to be faithful in difficult times. This week he is trying a “fifteen minutes in isolation” livestream on Facebook, every day at 9 am. I was his guest yesterday morning. Here’s a link to the livestream:

Enjoy! It’s about 20 minutes.

Prayers from Dcs. Pamela

We pray for those having surgery today:

  • Laurie Luckemeyer
  • Lynn Gartner (friend of Vicki Merkh)
Lord Jesus Christ, in Your ministry You healed many with frail and diseased bodies. Be present with Laurie and Lynn as they undergo surgery. Bless them with faith in Your loving-kindness and protection. Endow the surgeons and the medical team with skill and alertness so that this surgery may help Your servant to a speedy restoration of health and strength according to Your gracious will. Hear us for Your name’s sake as You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. (Pastoral Care Companion)

WEDNESDAY (April 1, 2020)

In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

Reading
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” (Romans 8:1–8)

Meditation
No condemnation. No one can speak against you. Even though you sin, even though you deserve death and shame, God has set you free by the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. That is the gift. That is the gift that is for you today and forevermore. Amen

Silence

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Lucy this day, O Lord, and show her your great love throughout all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, by Your great goodness mercifully look upon Your people that we may be governed and preserved evermore in body and soul; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Lord’s Prayer
