A piece of positive news:
Generation Green Wrap-up

Generation Green is a youth led initiative with the goal of engaging Halton students in climate action leadership, and supporting them in their commitment to greenhouse gas emission reductions in order to drive change and action in their communities.

The Generation Green program launched at the Generation Green Youth Un-conference in November. This was an event designed by youth for youth, where students were given the tools, resources, and inspiration to actively empower them to reduce the community of Halton’s greenhouse gas emissions through a personal project.

With the support of the Halton Climate Collective, we had 46 projects completed by students throughout the community of Halton. These projects primarily focused on reducing emissions through driving less, planting more trees, eating less meat, using less energy, and sending less waste to landfill. The students collectively reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by a whopping total of...

...over 20.3 tonnes!!!
Check out the Halton Climate Collective Website for more information on all the amazing student projects.
The Halton Climate Collective is working virtually! We had a great call this week, and are working on some great on-line initatives, stay tuned to our website, and social media streams!

Fridays for Future:
Post a photo of your Favourite Place on EARTH for Climate Action
This Friday, April 3 is one of Greta Thunberg’s days of action for North America, a date chosen weeks ago.  Now Fridays for Future Canada is calling for a virtual event.

So, we simply ask you to post a picture to our Facebook page, to GASP Grandmothers Act to Save the Planet's Facebook Page or Halton Hills Climate Action's Facebook Page or even your own, that expresses your appreciation for our planet, or your special little part of it, perhaps with you in the picture.

You might be standing in a favourite place, or hugging a child or a pet, or holding a sign that says what you feel.  Maybe something is coming up in your garden.

Show everyone what you love about the world we’re trying to save.  Do it any day when you have a few minutes. We'd love to see you.
Stay tuned for more community resources as we help build an online Halton community.

Stay connected!
