City Hall Closes to the Public; Government Still Providing Core Services
All City buildings are now closed to the public, including City Hall, the Community Center, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library. Residents can conduct most business online. City Businesses and Non-Profits Should Research, Contact Bank, and Apply
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act includes key provisions to support the small business community including the Small Business Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The PPP prioritizes millions of Americans employed by small businesses by authorizing up to $349 billion toward job retention and certain other expenses.
Small businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations, Veterans organizations, and Tribal businesses described in the Small Business Act, as well as individuals who are self-employed or are independent contractors, are eligible if they also meet program size standards.

A Virtual City Council meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 6. Council will discuss only emergency issues related to COVID-19.

Senior Citizen Tax Relief Application Deadline Extended to June 15
The City Treasurer has extended the deadline for senior citizen tax relief applications to June 15. Visit the program website, or contact the Treasurer's Office with questions: 703-248- 5046 (TTY 711) or treasurer@fallschurchva.gov.
Scammers Taking Advantage of the Pandemic
Scammers have been setting up websites, fake emails, texts and social media posts to raise money for phony charity projects and to sell fake safety measures and unproven treatments. Some emails claim to be from the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control. Follow the link to an informative post from our neighbors in Fairfax County.
Can I leave my house?
Yes. However, Governor Northam is urging Virginians to limit all non-essential travel outside the home, if and when possible. If you choose to go to the park, for a walk, or exercise outside, please practice strict social distancing and keep six feet apart from others. All public and private gatherings of more than 10 people are banned.
Are you limiting interstate travel?
No. Our roads and highways will remain open to move essential personnel and critical supplies.
Am I required to present any documentation proving I am traveling for an essential purpose?
No. Virginia law enforcement will not require documentation from individuals that are traveling for an essential purpose.

Health Care Options for the Uninsured
|From the Fairfax County Health Department (the City of Falls Church is part of the Fairfax Health District): Here is a list of clinics that offer low-cost or free medical care and pharmacies during the coronavirus outbreak: view the list. This list includes health care providers that offer primary care, dental care, behavioral health and pharmacies. These clinics and centers serve people who have no insurance or have Medicaid.
Three Inova Respiratory Illness Clinics Open
Inova Urgent Care locations at Dulles South, North Arlington and Tysons will staff Respiratory Illness Clinics to evaluate all patients with respiratory illness symptoms. Before visiting any Inova Respiratory Illness Clinic, contact your regular physician for evaluation. Read more here.
Playgrounds Closed; Fields, Courts Closed to Groups; Parks Open
City fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and the skate park are closed to groups of 10 or more people. Be prepared: you might have to turn around and go home if the field or court is too crowded.
Any number of people using those facilities must maintain 6 feet of distance from each other.
City playgrounds remain closed. They are unsafe to play on as they are not sanitized.
