by Ben Westcott  2:45 p.m. -- This afternoon the Texas Governor issued a new Executive Order, GA-14, declaring the Department of Homeland Security CISA definition for “essential services” serving critical infrastructure as the statewide definition for essential services.  He declared that any local orders in conflict with this definition of “essential services” are void.   Additional guidance on the new definition can be found on the following link through the Department of Emergency Management.   A copy of the Executive Order may be found here.   From a construction industry perspective this is what all of our statewide construction trade associations had been seeking.  We now have clarity across 254 counties, which provides certainty for the construction industry moving forward.  This was accomplished through the hard work of the ABC of Texas, AGC TBB and AGC Austin Chapter.
