Community & Whānau Network Meeting (Online)

These networking meetings are a great way to find out more about what other community organisations are doing, how you can connect and collaborate on projects or programmes of mutual interest and benefit. They may be of particular importance to promote social community interaction at this time of physical distancing.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Miranda Warner:  Re:act offers theatre programs are directed towards 'at-risk youth' and adults with experience of the criminal justice system through greater emotional literacy and empathy development.  This work has the potential to add value to individual lives and to the community, and ultimately to reduce reoffending and criminal behaviour.

Lara Cusdin:  Family Drug Support Aotearoa  (FDS) is a New Zealand wide organisation set up to support family/whānau and friends impacted by the alcohol and other drug misuse.  FDS support families/whānau so they can become a vital force for positive change and hope.

Katy Steele -   The Community Change Coalition (3C) is a new initiative in Nelson.  It aims to make sure that the community sector does not go back to business as usual, and that the sector receives the resources that it needs.  Katy is the Manager at Neighbourhood Support Nelson. 

Next regular C&W Nelson Network Meeting: Wednesday 10th June, 12 pm - 1.30 -pm (venue/format to be determined).

Would you like to speak at or facilitate a meeting? Let us know! Very few slots left for speakers. We would also greatly appreciate willing facilitators - 8th July is available!

Thanks to the Nelson City Council (who usually provides the venue) and funding for the administration of the Nelson Community and Whanau Network Meetings. Koha usually collected at the meeting goes towards other meeting costs, e.g. tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. The administration for the meetings is provided by Volunteer Nelson.
