Dear Bethel Bible Camp family,
We are so excited that we are entering another camp season. We want the glory of these 75 years to go to the Lord, but we also want to thank you for your prayer, giving and serving. You have all made an immensely positive difference.
The other day I was wondering what makes camp such an anticipated amazing event, such an exciting week. I realized it’s because it’s a week where kids get a chance to experience God’s glory with staff who love the Lord, choose to make him known, and show his love! I have talked to many campers about the summer; all are unbelievably excited. If we experience so much hope, anticipation and excitement for one or two weeks at a rural summer camp, how should our attitudes be knowing the hope we have of an eternity in glory? Our lives are filled with anticipation for many different events and activities, but then sometimes when these things fall through, our hearts hurt; but we heal, often only in the peace of God’s arms. But the kingdom of God does not disappoint: spending an eternity with the one that loves you completely, regardless of your brokenness, is the highest glory of all. Resting in love as we anticipate this greatest gift should change our attitudes daily. We are broken people, who live in a broken disappointing world, yet we can trust the best is yet to come. Let your joy, anticipation, excitement, and love for camp be multiplied in your life as you understand the promise of being loved and in God’s peace forever.
Right now, as we live in the exciting, joyful anticipation of camp we would love if you would prepare for the summer with us. You can do this by praying: for the campers, for the staff, for open hearts, for protection and for guidance. You can do this by giving. You can do this by choosing to give some of your time to Bethel and volunteering at one, two, or more of our camps this summer! You can come to our work days and help make camp look beautiful for the summer.
As we are all living currently in the midst of the global CoViD-19 pandemic, we recognize that all we do is in God’s hands, and so our plans are made DeoVolente (in God’s will.) The Bethel Bible Camp Board of Directors we are planning to go forward with camp this upcoming season. We understand this is a time of many unknowns and these plans may have to change. We will continue to keep you updated.

The dining hall renovation project is slowly progressing. This year we were told that the building was in the floodplain, meaning we couldn’t rebuild only renovate. However, there is currently a Westlock County Flood Plan Committee, looking to see what they can do to make it possible for people to proceed. We would greatly appreciate your prayers in that area: wisdom for the County Flood Plan committee, and wisdom in how to move forward after their decision is final. We will keep you updated.
As you look at the dates for camp we would feel so blessed if you would let us know what works, and then mark down the days in your calendar you will be involved in. We would love to see you all at camp this summer, as a camper, dropping off a loved one & staying for supper, or helping prepare camp for the summer, BUT we would we love if you would consider staffing at Bethel in one of our many roles. Thank you!
We are again very excited that it is our 75th year, we are so thankful for God’s faithfulness to us, for all your prayer and support, and always appreciate your continued standing with us, thank you.
