Webinars: Supporting small business preparedness

Although remote working is not new, some organisations have never had a requirement to operate in this way. Is your organsiation prepared to run business-critical processes remotely?

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland (CCIQ) has published a series of webinars designed to support small business during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These webinars are being provided amongst a wider suite of supports including guides, FAQs and free resources. 

Funding: Stop Cyberbullying grants open now 

Are you a young Queenslander aged 10 to 25 years with a great idea to help stop cyberbullying in your community? Or are you part of a community organisation or group with a great project idea?

Two grants are now open for applications under the Queensland Government's Stop Cyberbullying initiative. Young people can receive up to $2,000 to fund their initiative and organisations up to $5,000.

Applications close 10 May 2020.

Resource: Talking to children and young people about COVID-19

Red Cross Australia has put together a helpful guide to help you speak to children and young people about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like most adults, children are navigating something they have never experienced before. Finding the right way to talk to them about COVID-19 can help protect children and reduce their fear.

Children have a right to know what is going on, and as adults we have a responsibility to protect them from distress.

New: COVID-19 information and resources hub

With the COVID-19 outbreak and advice changing at such a rapid pace, we want to ensure you have access to up-to-date and relevant information on how it will impact you and your organisation in one place.

We are continually updating information on the COVID-19 support pages on Community Door to help you, your clients and your organisation.

You can access FAQs and checklists, industrial relations information, templates and plans, workplace guidelines for COVID-19 responses, as well as client and service specific resources.

NDIS: New live chat service launched

The NDIS has launched Webchat, a ‘live chat’ service on its website to enable people to talk with its staff about NDIS issues.

Previously the service only answered general questions and provided general information about the NDIS.

Now NDIS staff can help participants with their personal circumstances once they have verified their identity.
