Despite the delicate health emergency situation we all are going through, PANORAMED continues with its activity, it is fully operational, and stands by its commitment to governance improvement in the Mediterranean region.

2020 will undoubtedly be a challenging year, but it is now seen as an even more intense period that requires persistent efforts to support multilateralism, cooperation and the active search of innovative solutions to confront common difficulties.

 OPEN CALL FOR STRATEGIC PROJECTS ON INNOVATION
The Terms of Reference for Innovation have recently been published, putting out the Second Call for strategic projects that takes place under the framework of Axis 4 - Governance. It will be open until next 10 June at noon (CEST).

APPLICATION SEMINAR FOR INNOVATION PROJECTS

An on-line seminar devoted to the upcoming Strategic Projects on Innovation was organised to explain the different phases and deadlines of the call to the numerous organisations interested in applying.

                 

The call will take applications in until 10 June, date after which proposals will be assessed according to the eligibility and quality grids included in the Terms of Reference. The selection will be carried out by the Interreg MED Monitoring Committee and complete by the first week of July. Finally, the project implementation will span from 1 September 2020 until 30 June 2022, during a total of 22 months.
 
PANORAMED MAINSTREAMING EXPERIMENTATION

In 2018, PANORAMED launched a series of Mainstreaming experimentations in six Mediterranean countries to test the possibility of integrating the results of Territorial Cooperation projects in public policies at all levels. Today, a two-page brochure is circulated, highlighting the key findings and recommendations included in the upcoming evaluation report to be published in April 2020.

           

FIRST INTERREG MED GOVERNANCE GET-TOGETHER

The PANORAMED working session and gathering with Associated Partners, Horizontal Projects and Strategic Projects took place on 19 February at the premises of the Spanish Ministry of Finance in Madrid. It was the first time ever all Interreg MED Governance structure got together in the same room to deal with issues of common concern. Read more


 
INTERREG MED COORDINATION MECHANISM MEETING


Taking advantage of the Interreg MED gathering, the Joint Secretariat of the Programme organised a meeting on 20 February with two different working group sessions on Mainstreaming and Communication. Representatives discussed on common strategies to be defined and adopted in view of the next phase 2021-2027. FOCUS GROUP WITH ITALIAN TOURISM STAKEHOLDERS

Last 5 March, the PANORAMED Country Coordinator for Italy organised an interesting session with national stakeholders. The Focus Group had the objective of analysing a limited set of key problems of the coastal and maritime tourism sector as well as modelling the best potential solutions and policies to be implemented. Read more

Completion of three Key Policy Papers on maritime surveillance, coastal and maritime tourism, and innovation.
 
Organisation of the PANORAMED Dialogues, a major two-day forum that will take place this fall 2020.
 
Forthcoming launch of the Task Force for the preparation of the MED Positioning Paper on Improving Multilateral Governance in the Mediterranean.
