CTYP April 1st Newsletter

Happy Spring!

This is the first in a series of newsletters to help us as young professionals stay connected to each other and our community despite the uncertainty we are currently facing.  We will provide information and resources related to COVID-19 that are specifically helpful for young professionals.

We also will let you know about upcoming digital events, ways to keep yourself healthy (mentally, physically, and emotionally!), and how to help your community while still participating in social distancing.

A Message from the CTYP Board of Directors

April 1, 2020

Dear CTYP Members,

We hope you are healthy and in good spirits during this time of uncertainty.  As we all adjust to this new way of life for the foreseeable future, we want you to know that CTYP is still here for you!  CTYP is working hard to ensure that we continue to be a resource to you by providing up to date information and community resources, creating space for a virtual young professional community, and continuously adapting to the needs of our members.  Please be on the lookout for more frequent communication via email and on our social media pages. We have also added a new page to our website specifically with resources related to the ongoing pandemic.

Now more than ever we need to hear from you.  While all in-person events will be suspended until further notice, we are excited to offer virtual ways to stay in touch!  Do you have any idea of a virtual event? Let us know by sending an email to info@ctyp.org! This is the time for us to come together and support each other in any way that we can. We hope you will practice social distancing to flatten the curve out of respect for those who are essential to our communities and especially to our healthcare workers who are putting their lives at risk while working around the clock to keep us safe. Support local businesses when possible, and volunteer only if it is safe to do so without putting yourself or anyone else at risk.

We are all in this together!

Thursday, April 9th from 6-8 PM

SAYP (San Antonio Young Professionals) and CTYP (Connecticut Young Professionals) come together to bring you a unique virtual happy hour (spanning across the country). Separated by distance, but together in the quarantine, join us as we explore together the similarities and differences in our "new normals" (and enjoy your favorite food/beverage while doing so). During this event, you will be put into several breakout groups of 5 with optional prompts to get to know other young professionals in your community. Come expecting to meet a lot of new people!
