The Madison Mustang Newsletter
April 2020

Hello Madison Families!

Distance learning a go!  I want to thank our families and our teachers for helping our Madison students be prepared and set up for Distance Learning.  I know there is a lot happening right now, and we appreciate all that you have done to make distance learning happen for our students.  Please reach out to us with any questions, because we want to support you during this difficult time.

As you know, Governor Walz announced a “Stay Home” order until April 10th, and school closure until May 4th.  Remember the “Stay Home” order is saying it is okay for families to leave their home for essentials like groceries, gas, medical needs, care for others, etc., but stay home if there is nothing essential you need to get or do.   Going outside is encouraged and recommended so we all get some exercise and fresh air.  Due to school closures have been extended until May 4th, we were notified that MCA testing for grades 3-5 have been cancelled.

Here are recommendations to help prevent the spreading of the COVID-19 virus:
Do
  • Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub of at least 60% alcohol
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Put a distance between yourself and others ( 6 feet)
  • Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel sick
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Stay healthy and be well.  We miss our Madison students and families and hope we can return soon!  Again, if you need us, please email your child’s teacher or my email is kate.flynn@isd742.org.  Thank you for all you do to help your child be successful in their education!
