PodCo still open with new safety measures

Another quick update on our current situation as it stands on Thursday April 2nd.

Firstly, we would like to thank all of you for being so fantastic with the ever-changing rules and restrictions we have had to deal with.
There has been nothing but calm and good humour at the clinic :) and despite the fact our conversations have changed to more serious matters, being able to continue to come to work and continue to laugh has been a lifesaver for everyone.

Thank you for being truly amazing and allowing us to keep you on your feet  X

Because of this, the team have decided to keep PodCo Podiatry operating for the time being. Most of you are still feeling safe enough to attend your appointments which means we are obviously doing all the right things for you including:

  • Continuing with our strict clinical infection control procedures in the treatment room
  • Extra hand-washing and -sanitising for patients into and out of the clinic
  • Extra cleaning of frequently touched surfaces at the entrance, waiting room and bathroom areas
  • Daily floor mopping (apologies for the lingering smell of disinfectant!)
  • Screening all patients and practitioners before allowing attendance

In addition to these previous safety measures and to comply with Victorian Health and Human Services Level 3 restrictions, PodCo is now:

  • Allowing only one person at a time into the waiting area (If you come with a family member, you can still both wait together and enter the treatment room together). To help us comply, we are asking all of our patients to wait in their cars or outside the clinic until we let you know your practitioner is ready to see you

This has been working fabulously since we put it in place on Tuesday - thank you for adjusting so well to the new normal!

On review of current World Health Organisation (WHO) advice, the risk of contracting COVID-19 while attending an appointment at PodCo appears to be low. However, if you feel safer staying at home, we completely understand your concerns and will work with you to reschedule your appointment to a later date.

If you are looking for advice and answers to your questions, we suggest checking out the WHO website. They have an excellent FAQ page for answers on everything COVID-19 related including:
  • how it spreads,
  • whether you should wear a mask, and
  • how long the virus survives on surfaces.
Remember; your neighbour, friend or relative is usually not the expert you should be listening to!

For local advice regarding social restrictions, the Victorian Government Health and Human Services site has all of the most recently updated information.

PodCo will also continue to be available for those of you who need advice or have concerns regarding your foot health - during clinic hours as well as after hours. Please don't hesitate to contact us with your questions.

Lastly, we are working on incorporating Telehealth consultations for those of you who can do so - stay tuned for updates on this.

Stay safe and look after your community.
