Vaccine Update 253 -
Immunisation Provider Update- 'Drive-Up' Influenza Vaccination Clinics

2 April 2020

Dear Immunisation Provider,

Protecting the elderly and others at-risk of serious COVID-19 illness from influenza infection is of critical importance this year.  Following Government advice, many persons at risk of severe COVID-19 disease are self-isolating at home and multiple anecdotal reports indicate a substantial number may be hesitant to seek immunisation in clinical settings often attended by ill persons seeking care.

‘Drive-up’ immunisation clinics provide GP's with an alternative for administering vaccinations to vulnerable members of the community while optimising adherence to strict social distancing practices. Please refer to the attached letter for information regarding 'drive up' influenza vaccination clinics in WA.

Kind regards
