CARES Act– Resources for small businesses, non-profits and individuals

Update from the Willamette Valley Visitors Association

Resources to help your business and community

The CARES Act, the largest economic relief package in our nation’s history, was signed into law on March 27. Given the scope of the CARES Act, there’s a lot of information circulating about what the package includes. In this email, you’ll find resources that help you and your business navigate the resources made available in the package.

For businesses, SBA Disaster Loans will open on Friday, April 3, 2020. It is important to apply early, as there is a cap on these funds.

Built Oregon is hosting a webinar to help prepare the documents you’ll need to apply. Register here for the April 2 webinar at 3PM.

Governor's Office Updates

Oregonians told to “Stay Home, Save Lives”

Governor Kate Brown issued Executive Order 20-12, directing everyone in Oregon to stay at home to the maximum extent possible and adding to the list of businesses that will be temporarily closed to stem the spread of COVID-19 in Oregon. The order is effective immediately (March 23, 2020), and remains in effect until ended by the Governor.

Governor Kate Brown issued Executive Order 20-11, placing a temporary moratorium on residential evictions for nonpayment in light of the public health emergency caused by the spread of coronavirus in Oregon. The order is effective for 90 days.

April 1, 2020- Governor Kate Brown issued Executive Order 20-13, placing a 90-day moratorium on commercial evictions for nonpayment, in light of the impacts on business owners caused by the COVID-19 crisis. The order also strengthens Governor Brown's previous ban on residential evictions, and prohibits landlords from charging tenants late fees for nonpayment of rent during the moratorium.

Support Stay Home, Save Lives Communications

In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, Governor Brown released an Executive Order “Stay Home, Save Lives” on March 23. This new policy orders Oregonians to stay in their homes whenever possible and includes stronger language around approved activities and business operations.

Communication material that helps inform the public around this message and slow the spread of COVID-19 has been created. We are asking our partners around the state to use this messaging to share information on how Oregonians can stay safe and save lives.

This messaging is developing daily. Social tiles can be found here; new messages and social content can be found on the Oregon Health Authority’s COVID-19 page.
