Considering how difficult it is for musicians to maintain an income at this time, I am encouraged by both the positive spirit and the ingenuity of those facing the current crisis. Each day it seems less likely that our past ways of gathering (concerts, clubs, theatres) will occur as before, and the decision to congregate again is put off further into the future. Our hopes and wishes are with those who bring such joy and richness into our lives, and for whom we struggle to be of help. First responders deserve our support and respect; so do those who are first responders to our souls. We will all be healthier in many ways when we can once again see and hear live music.
