Palm Sunday:  Jesus’ Journey to the Cross
 
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!   We are praying for you and your families in this stressful time; may Jesus Christ be your peace and your rock.   
 
This week our Thursday night study group used the Zoom App to meet online.  One participant shared how she finds strength daily from the words of 
Psalm 91.  
 
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

 
As I prepared my Palm Sunday message this week, I was reminded that Jesus had all of us in mind as he made his difficult journey to Jerusalem, (destined for the cross) on that first Palm Sunday.  In this passage, Jesus persevered out of His love for us, and suffered greatly in order to make salvation possible for us; so that God, in Christ can become our refuge and fortress.  Praise God for His Son, our Redeemer, Shepherd, and Cornerstone.  Praise God, for the gift of His Spirit, who assures us of God’s presence with us, and who enables us to reach out to others in Jesus’ love.

During this time of self-isolation, take some time regularly to be filled from God’s Word, prayer and connection with your brothers and sisters in Christ.  As you lift up your prayers to God for the church, community, those in healthcare and essential services, and for our country and world, remember that “God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20
