Just in Case You Haven't Heard...

April's Meeting has been CANCELED.

Stay home and stay healthy! Make really cool stuff, or just experiment. Post what you are doing in our Facebook Group and share, just like Show & Tell at our meetings :-)
And, we hope to see you all in May - stay tuned for May's update.

Notes from our President

Hello glass friends-

April has arrived, as we knew it would, and this may be one of the most unusual April’s any of us have ever experienced.  In the last few days, the weather has been gorgeous!  It is so nice to feel the warmth in the sunshine, and see things starting to bloom and green-up.

It is unusual times, with so many crazy things happening.  Even though there are many people impacted by COVID 19 (and I hope none of you are personally impacted), I have seen some positives outcomes.

I see more people outside.  I hear about more families having dinner together.  I see more families connecting via Zoom meetings and skype.  In general, there appears to be more people relying on each other and their families.

I have also seen people taking advantage of the time to be more creative!   It is awesome seeing all the beads, all the jewelry, all the videos, and all the talent being shared.  I have seen new ideas being shared, new challenges being created, and the cleanest studios being shared all over social media.

I have heard about new TV programs (Tiger King fans anywhere?) and favorite movie lists being liberally shared.

Social distancing is challenging, but it appears to be making a difference in the outcomes of those who might contract the disease.

While we don’t know how long this will last, we are hopeful we can get through the worst of it and come out the other side, relatively unscathed.

Once I get done Spring cleaning- I will be focused on having creative fun!

I hope we can get together again soon, and I look forward to seeing what everyone has been up to.

If you find yourself with some spare time, check out the ISGB online “Gathering”-this weekend.  So many fun things, an online auction, and live demos.

We are in uncharted territory, but we shall persevere!

I hope you and your families remain safe, healthy, and creative!

Just tell Susan that DebH said so!!
(the deadline was supposed to be April 1st) ;-)

The ISGB Gathering is Online. Whohoo!!
The ISGB is hosted online activities last week when the Gathering would have taken place.

They are being held on Facebook on Zoom, the ISGB's public page, and the Gathering page.

These activities include presentations, online auctions, and a bead bazaar.

Although, just a fraction of what the actual Gathering includes, all of these things are free for anyone and the ISGB hopes it gives people some joy and community during these trying times.

All of the events are Pacific time as the Gathering would have been.

Participation in the auction requires easy registration and you can bid from your phone!  Many of our members have donated fabulous items including the ever-popular double helix donation.

I'm happy to answer any questions but just wanted to let the guild know about these fun glass activities.

I hope everyone is safely staying home.

Be well. We will all get through these times together.

Susan
