Dear AIS-Salzburg Community,

Here in Salzburg, we are almost three weeks into the corona crisis 'shut down' with most businesses closed, schools closed and airports shut down. It is an odd sort of calm that has settled over this beautiful city as spring arrives and the rebirth of nature repeats unabated. We all hope that you are able to summon up the discipline and strength required to overcome this worldwide crisis and yet still enjoy the peace, quiet, time with family, and the rare opportunity to focus without distraction. Take care and carry on but don't forget to smell the roses (or daffodils).

Week One of Virtual Learning

As this first week of virtual learning comes to an end, we take a look at some of the highlights from our Google classroom!

In the Classroom

On the first day of online classes post a COVID-19 forced early spring break, AP Calculus students are welcomed by Mr. Lichty with a challenge to predict the number of Coronavirus cases countries around the globe will reach.

Flashback Friday Interview

Sylvia Reiter first taught at AIS-Salzburg in 1986 and retired in 2017. Three years later, she reflects on her years at AIS-Salzburg in this interview.

What did you enjoy most about teaching?

SR: "I always enjoyed the connection with students from all over the world and their curiosity about learning a foreign language. I also enjoyed teaching small groups. This way I got to know them really well and could do a lot of individual teaching."

Why would you recommend AIS-Salzburg to prospective students?

SR: "I would recommend AIS to all students that want to study in small groups with very dedicated teachers in a wonderful environment."

News & Upcoming Events

Other than some minor renovations and upgrades going on around the school, there is not much to report at this time while the future still remains unclear. There will likely be announcements in the coming weeks regarding the status of the remainder of the school year and our summer school program. For now, our focus is on continuing with the online education of our students.
