Week of April 17, 2020

Dear Guardian Angels School Families,

As we return from Easter Break, we enter our third week of our distance learning.  It is our goal to continue to provide each student with high quality distance learning.  We know that families have varying needs at home, and we know there will be no perfect fit for everyone, but we are making all efforts to continue refining our remote program to better serve you.  In this light, we’re asking for feedback from families to guide us in our next steps. A link to the short online is included in this weekly update.  Please take a few minutes to complete it.  We are all in this together and we truly appreciate the support!

Check out our Facebook page for photos of our GA family showing what distance learning looks like at their home along with additional activities they are doing. It is good for our students and families to stay connected as best we can. Please send your photos to Mrs. Scott who can post your photos on our GA school Facebook page. (pscott@gachaska.org)

Please expect a check-in call from one of our staff weekly. It’s important for us to hear how things are going. Don’t forget to attend one of the parent Zoom meetings this weekend on Saturday morning at 10:00 am or Sunday evening at 8:00 pm. Click on the links below to join either of the two meetings. This is an opportunity for our GA parents to connect and discuss what’s on your minds.

On behalf of the Guardian Angels School Staff, we wish you all the peace, comfort, and love only the risen Christ can bring.  We hope your family enjoyed a very blessed Easter and will continue to celebrate the season over the next several weeks!

Stay well…Stay positive…Stay active…Stay in prayer …and Keep the GA spirit shining bright!

Blessings to you all!

Mantente bien ... Mantente positivo ... Mantente activo ... Mantente en oración ... ¡y mantén el espíritu de GA brillando!

¡Bendiciones para todos ustedes!
Parent Zoom Meeting #2

Our mental health at this time is just as important as our physical health.  If you are concerned please check out the State of Minnesota Covid19 website for help.

Special Prayer Request
Please pray for Mrs. Hennen's husband, Paul, who suffered a stroke at the beginning of this week.  He will be in the hospital and rehab for a couple of weeks. All of your prayers would be appreciated.

Also pray for all of our school family that have lost jobs during the Covid crisis.  This is a hard time for everyone.

Please join us as we pray the rosary daily at 4:00 and the litany of saints at 11:05 for the health and welfare of all people during this difficult time in our world. God bless you all!
An important message from Aim Higher

Tuition payments:

Aim Higher is offering Reserve Funds for any non-Aim Higher scholar who has a parent that was furloughed or laid off due to COVID 19 and are struggling to make tuition payments for the remainder of this school year. Mrs. Lovegreen can apply for a $1000 scholarship to help with tuition payments if needed. These funds are available on a first come first serve basis until the funds run out. Please contact her directly if you need help making tuition payments because you have been furloughed or laid off due to COVID 19. (slovegreen@gachaska.org

Free Lunches for those in need
District 112 will provide meals for all children who need them, no matter their resources and no matter what school they attend.

We have free lunches for students in the community that can be picked up at Riverview Terrace or at Clover Ridge Elementary March 30th-May 4th from 11:30-12:30.   If students need lunches but are unable to get to a pick up site, they can call nutrition services at 952-556-6150 to request meal delivery.

Food pick up on Monday (for Monday and Tuesday meals) and Wednesday (for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) only now.

Tuition, lunch accounts & yearbook fees

Tuition for the 2019-2020 school year still needs to be paid. The tuition covers the cost to continue the Distance Learning and support we are providing for all our GA families. (Yearbooks are $25)
Payments can be left in the drop off box inside the double glass doors Monday through Fridays between 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.
You may mail payments to:
Guardian Angels Catholic School, 217 W 2nd Street, Chaska, MN 55318

Where in Guardian Angels School is our Guardian Angel?
Each week we’ll post a photo of our little Guardian Angels. The first five families to respond and tell Mrs. Lovegreen where our Guardian Angel is located in our school will get a surprise in the mail.
A special "THANKS" to the Jones family and the PTO for delivering Easter greetings/baskets to all of the students.  They sure had a big task so we thank you for your time and talent.
Here is a challenge for you.  Connor Swanson, in preschool, is the son of one of my former students, Angela. Angela's mom sent me a photo of us probably in first grade about 1994-95.

Guardian Angels has stood the test of time. It is a great time to share photos of students and teachers of years gone by. Kind of like people are doing to support seniors on Facebook.  Students can be at any age with any teacher.  Let's see what we can come up with.  Do you have any friends that went here 50 years ago?  We would like to see those teachers too!  Good luck at digging up those photos.  Please send them to pscott@gachaska.org  Thank you!
Rice Bowl

With all of the craziness going on we forgot about the Rice Bowls.  If you have yours sitting around the house waiting to be turned in please drop it off at school the next time you make a trip this way.

Thank you!
