SMALL BUSINESS CONTINUITY PROGRAM

The Small Business Continuity Program is intended to help small businesses in Oklahoma City that are experiencing adverse effects from COVID-19 and assist in the retention of employees during a period of economic insecurity.

Applications close this Friday, April 17 for cash incentives, low interest, and no-interest loans and technical assistance. For more information and guidelines, read the press release here. Visit the official website here okcsmallbizhelp.com.
REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY

The 25th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony hosted by the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum will be held this Sunday, April 19 at 9 am. Most television stations in Oklahoma and other media outlets will air the ceremony. It can also be viewed on MemorialMuseum.com and on their Facebook page.

This Remembrance Ceremony will be much different than those held in the past. The Memorial is producing an hour-long ceremony that includes the 168 seconds of silence and the reading of the names, remembering those who were killed, honoring those who survived and thanking those changed forever

ACTIVE DURING ISOLATION

Stay active during isolation by taking walks on downtown sidewalks while staying socially distant from others, or going on an evening bike ride. Another great way to engage in activity is through online classes such as yoga, barre, bootcamp, and more. We have compiled a list of downtown businesses and organizations offering virtual classes.

GARDEN IN PLACE

Programming and horticultural staff at both Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park have created free seed starting kits for local children and their families. The kits offer fun and educational activities about the art and science of growing plants.

Multiple types of kits will be available with supplies to grow individual plants. A Salsa Garden kit will be available Friday, April 17 and includes all materials to grow tomatoes, cilantro and sweet peppers. On Friday, April 24 a Pollinator Garden kit will be offered for growing zinnia, marigold and fennel plants to attract bees and butterflies.

Now is a great time to show your state support by taking the 2020 Census. This is our opportunity to get the federal funding for healthcare, education, congressional representation and more that Oklahoma City deserves.

Taking the 2020 Census is easy. You can take it online, on paper by mail, or on the phone. For more information, visit okc.gov/cesnus.
