Michigan's Research Universities respond to COVID-19, presidents to speak at tele-town hall
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the three universities that make up Michigan's University Research Corridor (URC) – Michigan State University, the University of Michigan and Wayne State University – are leveraging their resources to find a vaccine, effective testing and treatments for COVID-19.
On Thursday, April 23, presidents from the three URC universities will be speaking via conference call to business leaders as part of the Detroit Regional Chamber COVID-19 Tele-Town Hall Series. Presidents Samuel L. Stanley Jr., Mark S. Schlissel and M. Roy Wilson will discuss how their schools have launched into identifying treatments for the virus, sending health care students to the front lines of the crisis and providing resources and advice for business owners, parents, students and food suppliers dealing with the pandemic. Find out more information on the discussion here. Those who sign up for the DRC event will be able to submit questions during the tele-town hall.
More than 400 new COVID-19-focused projects are now underway at Michigan's research universities. See recent news on how the URC is supporting the response.
