Safe Shopping During COVID-19

As our response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues, I joined Issaquah's Economic Development Manager Jen Davis Hayes, in this video to discuss:
  • How to safely shop for essentials
  • What precautions businesses are taking to keep employees and customers safe
  • How we can continue to support our local businesses

Staying Safe in Our Parks

The sun is out this week, but please enjoy the weather while you Stay Home, Stay Healthy. If you take a car, the park or trail is too far.

Walking or biking to our nearby parks is a great way to get in your daily dose of fresh air and exercise, but please also respect our facility closures (sports courts, play equipment, etc.), and stay at least six feet from others at all times.

April: Sexual Assault Awareness Month

I recently proclaimed April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Issaquah. Many of our partner agencies, including the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center, are here to help. Even during the COVID-19 crisis, their 24-hour remains open, always, at 1.888.99.VOICE.

The Governor's order does NOT mean people who feel unsafe at home should be staying there. There are resources to help you relocate and find safe shelter at issaquahwa.gov/needhelp.

City Budget Update

Issaquah is working to balance its budget in response to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting loss of City revenues.

Learn more in our presentation to the City Council during its April 20 remote meeting. Watch live or view afterward on our YouTube channel. I will continue to keep our community informed of service impacts as we prioritize essential services.

Reminder: Census 2020

There's still time to complete your Census 2020 survey!

While April 1 is the date you should use to count everyone living in your home, it's not the deadline.

Please remember to complete your Census form to ensure Issaquah counts. Visit 2020Census.gov to respond.

Stay Informed

Please also check our website, which also has resources for those in need, ideas on how we can help each other, and how we can support local businesses during this challenging time.

Please, stay home and stay healthy. We got this, Issaquah.

Yours in Service,

Mayor Mary Lou Pauly
