Dear Friend,

Today we celebrate the feminine and the way the earth feeds and nurtures us. Every tree, field and forest is breathing freely right now. Nature is benefiting from our quarantine. Good things will come!

When we talk about Slow Travel, we mean taking time to slow down and celebrate life. That could look like taking a walk wherever you are and noticing the trees. Or, it could be sitting down in a cafe on the other side of the world. Slow Travel and, for that matter, Slow Living wakes us up to noticing and appreciating what we don’t usually have time to. For me, countries in the Mediterranean immediately drop me into my feeling body. That’s why we like to go there. Italy especially scoops us up into her bosom and gives us a sense of belonging. We relax.

We’ve included a few “stuzzichini” (tasters) below of the vibrant characters and dishes that connect us to nature’s beauty and bounty. Meanwhile, I am ordering seeds for my garden here in Colorado, the first one that I have planted in 20 years. How else will I get my fix of bitter greens and radicchio? If only I could grow lemons..

Luigi Aceto, conceived in a lemon grove more than likely since the family at the time lived in a one room house, he believes he has lemon juice running in his veins. Read about him in my blog.
