Article 1: Shaping a Nation

Imagine a South Africa without pap and wors. Now imagine that there was no sound of vuvuzelas at a soccer match, no babotie, no brightly-coloured Ndebele traditional houses to admire, no rolling vineyards...

We’ve often heard South Africa being referred to as the Rainbow Nation. It’s because we’re a country of so many different cultures.
Each group of people arrived in SA at different times in history and for very different reasons.

Each unique culture, in turn, influenced and shaped our country in its own way. Let’s not focus on the bad, but on the good influences we all get to share. That’s special! Without one or more of these cultures, SA would be a very, very different country! Download the article for more.

Article 2: South African UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Our country is full of rich and diverse cultural, historical and natural elements. There are many wonderful places you can visit. You don’t just have to go overseas to experience the magic of new places.

Eight great places in South Africa were awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) recognises places of natural or cultural significance worldwide. Download the full article here.
