DAY OF PRAYER

Elim's National Leadership Team are calling the Elim movement to prayer with a special Day of Prayer on Friday 24 April.

On Friday 24 April, we will gather together live online using the Elim Pentecostal Facebook page to engage the Elim Movement in prayer. Each prayer session will last for about 15 minutes, so join us on Friday 24 April on Facebook at 9 am and 6 pm for a time of united prayer.

Looking after your mental health during Covid-19

(just a few thoughts, not medical advice. Please see NHS guidelines for official advise)

ROUTINE  - try and stick to the same routine every day, meals times, getting up and going to bed etc.

SELF CARE - try to look after your physical care, even getting dressed and brushing your teeth in the morning can make a huge difference to how your day goes.

FRESH AIR - try and walk / exercise everyday if you can, if you can't manage it try to step outside or even open the window.

EXERCISE - move your body throughout the day. There are lots of exercise videos on YouTube you can use.

NEWS / SOCIAL MEDIA - try to only watch the news once or twice a day, otherwise you can become very anxious if you keep watching to over and over again.

SOCIAL CONTACT - keep in touch with people on the phone and through face-time etc. every day.

BEING IN THE MOMENT - try not to ruminate too much about the past or worry too much about the future but rather be in the present moment.  You can do this by using your five physical senses to notice things around you.

ENJOYMENT - try to find things to do that you enjoy, no matter how small.

ACHIEVEMENT - try and find a sense of achieving in undertaking a task or learning something new, again no matter how small.

EMOTIONS - accept and allow difficult emotions. It's natural to feel them during this time. They will pass. Be kind to yourself.

Prayer
Foodbank open Wednesdays and Fridays to clients looking for food; Tuesday- Friday, 9:30-3pm for donations

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who is giving their time, energy or finance to the cause right now. We are successfully feeding hundreds of people each week, whilst keeping donations coming in, and volunteers safe. It’s a big task right now, so your support, whether prayerfully or otherwise, is nothing other than encouraging.

Please keep supporting any way you can. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

We are using this season to prepare us all for greater impact in the seasons to come. We believe that everyone of us has the potential to be equipped and released into wonderful impact that reflects Christ and draws others to Him. But we are not all the same, so we need different pointers depending on experiences, gifts, or positions, and we may need to be released differently. So we will explore this in the context of Ephesians 4, five fold ministry: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Shepherds and Teachers. We hope to back up our sermons on Sundays with group exploration, so if you want to learn more and not in a group, then please contact us to connect.

You can now give to us through your smartphone. Download the GIVT app, scan this QR code & give. It's simple, easy to use & effective in making sure we can continue to release ministry through this church.

REMINDER:

You may be in a position where you can help us. If you are not, we seek not to put any burden on you whatsoever. We do therefore have three ways you can help us:

1. Pray with us. Absolutely nothing will be as impactful as prayer in this season. Let us never lose sight of the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
2. Serve with us. You may be fit and healthy; in which case, in order to open more, we need more hands to help serve people in need. this could be through delivering to those in isolation, or helping us help those who are able to come to our site.
3. Give financially. We want to make sure our ministry and our foodbank work increases. This means we still need resourcing coming in. Would you consider giving via a standing order? If you don’t giftaid to us, please can we ask you to giftaid to us also. If you normally give by cash, can we ask you to put a cheque to us in the post instead?

We are indebted to all who already give and serve. From the bottom of our hearts, we say thank you for giving sacrificial, generously & consistently.
