April 17th marks Palestinian prisoner's day, and this year there is particular urgency in calling for action to protect prisoners from COVID-19.

Israel continues to ignore the World Health Organization (WHO), the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and human rights experts, about the need to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to those in detention.

Over 5,000 Palestinians, including 180 children, remain in unsanitary and overcrowded prisons. These conditions - coupled with medical neglect and poor nutrition - make detention centers dangerous breeding grounds for COVID-19 and leave Palestinians especially vulnerable.https://zoom.us/meeting/register/v5QufuGrqT4tBXhhlMJVsGvjD1CEVmUEYw
