EARTH DAY TURNS 50...

Wednesday, April 22nd officially marks 50 years of celebrating Earth Day. This year, due to the current COVID-19 concerns and with Antigua & Barbuda being under 24-hour curfew, there are a few simple things you can do at home in honor of the day such as planting a tree, or growing your own kitchen garden.

Apart from playing a pivotal role, one of the benefits of using your green thumb to grow your own garden is that you can save money. If you can't grow it yourself, support small businesses by buying quality products from local farmers.

We only have one Mother Earth, so let's play our part and treat her right!
The ongoing 24-hour curfew in Antigua & Barbuda has been amended this week to allow for limited outdoor exercise and to expand the scope of businesses allowed to operate on reduced hours, to include hardware, auto-mechanics and parts stores, certain marine services, and more. SHOP LOCAL, SHOP SMART

Freshly baked goods are among new additions to our growing list of food supplies. A few of our local restaurants and other establishments have adapted so they can continue to serve you; combine with other small businesses, such as bakeries, meat suppliers, and local farmers, to keep the economy going.

While you may venture out between 7am and 12pm to grocery-shop cautiously, consider delivery if the option is available. It’ll save you time waiting in public spaces, and give you the opportunity to show your support to our local businesses during these tumultuous times.

Check out some ideas below and please view the full list of supermarkets, bakeries, farmers, fishermen and artisans on our gorwing provisioning page. If you are a food producer who would like to be listed on this page, please call 561-0405 or email inquiries@antiguanice.com.
