Greetings,
We hope everyone is doing well and settling in while dealing with this COVID-19 situation. It has been one of the most disruptive events that I can think of in most of our lifetimes and hopefully we are on a path to the virus slowing down and trying to figure out what our new normal will be for the rest of the year.
The local real estate market has been disrupted because this is the time of year where people start to put their homes on the market and many have decided to hold off due to the pandemic.
Our recommendation is that if you have a home that you need to sell sooner than later just put it on the market. Agents have really pushed themselves to do innovative things like 3D tours and walking video tours to showcase homes a little differently for the people that really have to move now.
We have still had some homes that gone under contract within days of hitting the market because they were in high demand locations, layouts or price ranges. This is why I would not recommend waiting to list for most sellers. If you have any questions as to the timing of listing your home give us a call and we can figure out the best plan for your situation.
We do believe that demand will pick up once we get into the third quarter this year as we get closer to getting back to whatever “normal” is.
Usually when we send out these newsletters we make it seem like it is all sunshine and rainbows, and for the last few years it pretty much has been. Now we are taking a more measured approach so when you are ready to make a move it is imperative that you work with one of our expert agents to help you through the process.
Thanks to all of our current and past clients for working with us over the years and please continue to stay in touch as we navigate this uncharted territory.
Respectfully,
Mike Kelly, President
Hickory Real Estate Group
