Where is your closet?
we take a break this week from our weekly devotional to share some resources for Parents and kids, scroll down to take a look

Dear Parents,

What is good for your soul? A good meal? A walk outside? Putting on headphones and listening to music or a favorite podcast? Maybe hiding in your closet for a few minutes to take deep breaths!

We all need some spaces of oasis, of refreshment for our souls, so that we can continue to pour out energy and effort into parenting, our work, and our relationship with our spouses. It can be difficult in this season of quarantine to find these spaces because there are always other people in the house!

We may not be in a season where we can sit quietly with our Bible and a cup of coffee each morning for 30 minutes. We may be able to close our eyes for 3 minutes and listen to a worship song. We may be able to say to our family, "I am walking outside for 5 minutes alone" and I will be back. Our "closets" (those places where we feel safe and secure) will look different in this very unusual season, but don't give them up! Social distancing requires a lot of us as we are made for community with one another and we need a well to draw water from.

I would love to hear about your "prayer closets" - let me know what creative ways you are finding to refresh your soul even if it's just a mantra you are repeating in your head to keep you grounded. Also, if you participated in the Holy Week scavenger hunt with your family, I would love to know how it went: andrea@lfppc.org

We are all in this together!

yours in Christ,

Andrea

p.s. one way to find "oasis" is our monthly Jazz Vespers service. This Sunday from 5-6pm our Jazz Vespers service will be online. Tell your friends who could use some encouragement and refreshment to check it out as well. You can find that here

God is at work! Take a minute to listen to this song and be reminded of how God is making all things new.

If you missed it, check out Kim's devotional from this week on the LFPPC facebook page on Celebration and Struggle. You can do that here
