COVID-19: SNSW advice

You can catch up with all the latest government advice and health recommendations via our dedicated COVID-19: SNSW advice page, which is regularly updated with tips, advice and information to help clubs navigate this challenging time. This will include such things as the support available to clubs through the state and federal government, as well as help with governance issues, like running your AGM.

We remind our clubs and members to comply with the government's social distancing and isolation measures, which are designed to reduce the spread of the virus and to keep people safe. Swimming NSW will remain operational throughout the months ahead and we encourage our members to reach out at any time they need support.

Sport & Recreation Sector Recovery Working Group established

On Wednesday 1 April, the Acting Minister for Sport, Dr Geoff Lee, announced the establishment of a Sport and Recreation Sector Recovery Working Group.

This Recovery Working Group brings together representatives from the government and the sport and recreation sector to collaboratively work on current issues and solutions for the sector during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The group will be coordinated by the NSW Office of Sport and Sport NSW, and includes representatives from a range of different sized State Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Organisations for people with Disabilities.

The representatives are Carolyn Campbell (Chairperson, Sport NSW), Steve Loader (CEO, Sport NSW), David Trodden (CEO, NSW Rugby League), Steven Pearce (CEO, Surf Life Saving NSW), Kirin Lindop (CEO, Athletics NSW), Margot Harley (CEO, Rowing NSW) and Murray Elbourn (Chairperson, NSW Goalball and Disability Inclusion Manager, Sport NSW).

These representatives will act and advocate on behalf of the entire sport sector, aiming to develop solutions that help organisations and other peak bodies work through the current times and prepare for the return of sport.

Should you have any questions, concerns or ideas that you would like discussed with the group, please don't hesitate to get in touch with any of the representatives. You can reach Steve Loader at ceo@sportnsw.com.au or alternatively email our team at info@sportnsw.com.au
