Keeping the Club Ready - Weed News
During the Lockdown period, the committee have taken steps to 'mothball' the clubhouse and keep costs down, by dealing with such matters as reducing the heating, cleaning, waste disposal etc etc. However so that we are ready to start sailing again when the lockdown is unlocked, our contractor continues to manage the weed on the lake and we hope that this will keep it under control ready for when we can start sailing again.

Winter Series and Spring Chicken - Results
Before coronavirus struck our shores and indeed Surrey, we were merrily sailing the Winter Series, which unfortunately had to be shortened due to the lockdown, with the numbers of races to count, amended suitably.
I am pleased to announce that in the Winter AM Series Mark Carleton in his Aero came first, second, Frank Brown in his Solo, third Charlie Beck represented the Lasers and Jason Hardman, another Aero in 4th.
The Winter PM Series saw Frank Brown take the cup, with Charlie Beck 2nd in support and James Dunham, one of our newer members, coming 3rd in his Graduate.
We also ran the Spring Chicken Handicap, one-day series, where Mark Carleton led all three races to take podium honours. Andrew Hill Smith led for the Lasers coming second and Andrew Boyce showed that the Solos could also get on the winners stand. Well done to all competitors.
Once we get a bit more clarity on the developing situation we will resume as soon as it is appropriate to do so.
For those already feeling a bit rusty, or wanting to get a head start on learning to sail, here are the next two training videos in the series started in the last newsletter.
Another of our emergency services who are there 24/7 but the RNLI urge everyone not to go sailing at the moment. Clearly they cannot rescue people from a 2 metre distance on an inshore lifeboat.
