Hi <<First Name>>,

I hope this week's update finds you staying well, whether sheltering in place or on the clinical or innovation front lines. Below are links to curated news and resources.

Food as Medicine:  At Exponential Medicine (xMed) last November Dr. William Li gave a tour de force keynote on how nutrition and healthcare are starting to collide, and a look at the future of food as medicine. Our food is compromising our healthcare systems, with an estimated 11M deaths world wide per year attributed to poor diet. The role of the microbiome and our metabolomes will increasingly drive personalized diets, and 'Farm vs Pharma' studies are demonstrating the potential of foods with antiangiogenic, stem cell and immunologic benefits that approach or exceed traditional pharmaceutical levels of activity. In the setting of the COVID-19 pandemic, improved nutrition, and potentially some supplements may play a role in prevention and recovery.

Art, Music & Community: It's been encouraging in the midst of our pandemic to experience the creativity and artistry unleashed from amateurs to professional entertainers in helping support morale, public health, clinical initiatives and beyond. At Exponential Medicine 2019 we we were fortunate to be joined by The Brother Koren, who, along with Frank Fitzpatrick led a collaborative song-writing workshop.  "New Day" was the song emerged, written in only 35 minutes... "The power of community so many possibilities... Unleash your voice today,  Opens us to a whole new way... A new day". Here is its first performance by xMed participants (worth a listen!).  For some more from the Koren Brothers catch their aptly titled song 'Everything's Changing' performed at xMed and their new single 'What Happens Now'.

A New Day - Crowdsourced Composition. Have a listen.

Wishing everyone brighter and better days ahead,

Daniel
