The Northern Virginia Diaper Bank would like to thank you all for helping our families in crisis during this difficult time.
Since March 13th when President Trump declared a National Emergency, you have helped the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank deliver 12,586 diapers to children and families in crisis. As many of our donors and partners know, the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank is operated by volunteers with no paid staff.
Thanks to donor generosity and manpower, the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank serves Loudoun and Fairfax counties with zero funding from local or federal governments.
Giant Foods is a major sponsor of the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank. Due to ongoing pressures from COVID-19, our anticipated diaper drive with Giant will be postponed which means our diaper bank will depend on our donors and volunteers now more than ever before. We cannot thank you enough for stepping up and lending a helping hand. Here's what you've helped us do since March 13th,
In March and April we delivered 5,385 diapers to Parent Liaisons at Loudoun County Public Schools. While we were able to provide diapers this month, our LCPS staff expressed concern that families are in need of baby wipes.
Last week we delivered 2,000 diapers to INMED Partnership for Children. We are grateful to all of our volunteers and donors who made this delivery possible.
Later in the week, thanks to your help, we delivered another 3,000 diapers to Women Giving Back.
Additionally, thanks to our donors, the Northern Virginia Diaper Bank served Cornerstones, Fairfax County Public Schools, and other partners to provide diapers, wipes and other personal care products.
With unemployment in our region on the rise, the need for diaper banks is increasing. Again, we thank you for your support, generosity and kindness. We will get through this!
