Activities to help you connect, nourish,
move and appreciate

Staying connected, showing appreciation, and keeping our bodies active and nourished are all important parts of keeping happy and healthy! These things help us to have good wellbeing and to feel great!

Our Small Changes website was created to help families find the learning in activities they do at home while spending more quality time together.
If you missed our last Small Changes email, you can check it out here.
Check out some of our activity ideas
Connect: Staying connected while in your bubble
Our Educator Kat talks about who might be in our outer bubble and how we can stay connected to these people.

Give these activities a try after you've watched the video:
  • Draw a picture like Kat has in the video, writing down who is in your inner bubble and who is in your outer bubble. Have a brainstorm of the ways you can keep connected and stay in touch with those in your outer bubble. Try to get in touch with someone from your outer bubble each day.
  • Give our Friends Word Find a try here.
Move: Fit as a fiddle
Most of us spend a lot of time sitting down each day. It's important for us to keep active for our health and wellbeing, so its a good idea to come up with a family activity plan to make sure you do something to move your body every day. We don't want to become couch potatoes!

Together as a family, download Harold's Learning Experience and work through the questions here.
Nourish: Growing our own food
Our Small Changes Ambassador Danijela Unkovich is an expert on nutrition. In this video Danijela talks to us about the benefits of growing your own food and the ways that you can do it. She also shares her tips for fruit and vegetables that are simple to grow in your garden and that are delicious to add to your meals.

Once you have watched the video give these activity ideas a try:
  • Investigate what types of vegetable seeds can be planted this time of year
  • What do you need to do to plant and take care of these seeds?
  • Think about the healthy recipes you would be able to make using these veges
  • Research the nutrients and vitamins that are in the vegetables you'd like to plant
If you've got what you need to plant your own garden you could get started with help from an adult. If you don't have what you need, you could do draw a plan of what your ideal vege garden would look like.
Appreciate: Thinking about the things we have to look forward to
Our Educator Kat shows us how to make a jar to fill up with the things that we are looking forward to when we are able to leave our bubble in the future.

What are you looking forward to doing again? Why not make your own jar or box of things you are looking forward to.
