Dear Members & Friends,

We hope that you are concentrating on your well-being at this time. Don't place any undue pressure on yourself to "get things done" - especially writing. Sometimes, just being present and focusing on your health and wellness is more important than getting words on the page.

That being said, for those of you who would like to stay connected and attempt to prod that muse, the WCYR is looking into ways to connect with you in the virtual-verse. We are holding our first online members-only workshop with MJ Moores on April 23rd from 7pm-9pm. This will be a trial-run to test out how well this platform works. If all goes well, we're hoping to open up interactive webinars to both members and friends of the WCYR.

We are also looking at having weekly Facebook Live spotlights & Q&As with past workshop leaders, members, & friends to chat about craft and the business of writing for short stints on our private facebook group THE WCYR's MEMBERS' CORNER. If you're not yet a participant, please stop by and request permission to be in the group.

Lastly, we're hoping to do some fun stuff with twitter and instagram. We'll keep you updated as planning and brainstorming progresses. Also, if you are looking for motivation and a place to share your ups and downs as you continue to write, consider joining our online support group WORD BY WORD (where we do our best to keep ourselves and each other accountable).

And so, from all of us to all of you - stay safe & be well,
The WCYR Board
Upcoming Member's Only Workshop

Querying about Queries
with MJ Moores

Writing query letters is another writing craft that can either make or break key opportunities for getting your manuscript in front of the right representative.

In this workshop, you will bring your existing query letter drafts to be tweaked and improved upon. Take an in-depth look at the most common query templates/practices and discuss which version best fits your book and your target agent.

MJ will rely on first-hand feedback after speaking with agents, info from attending agent-led seminars, online research, and personal experience.

Note: This is a FICTION and CREATIVE NON-FICTION workshop. Non-fiction manuscripts require a completely different process.

This workshop will take place ONLINE April 23rd from 7:00-9:00 pm.
Register before 8:00 am Wed. April 22nd to reserve a spot.
All ONLINE invites will be emailed Wed afternoon.
