The University of Wisconsin and COVID-19

Doctors and scientists around the world are focused on learning about the novel coronavirus called COVID-19 that has spread to more than 100 countries and been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Medical experts here in Wisconsin are no different, studying how it spreads, how to treat people who have it, and how to stop it. This week, doctors at UW Health treated the first COVID-19 patients with plasma from recovered donors (Wisconsin State Journal, April 14, 2020). And earlier this month, an international collaboration of virologists at UW–Madison began the development and testing of a unique vaccine against COVID-19 called CoroFlu (UW-Madison News, April 2, 2020).

Learn about these stories and more at COVID-19: UW on the Front Lines, a website from the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association that collects news and stories about the UW's involvement in research, treatment, and containment strategies related to COVID-19.
