Opening Prayer

Maybe today, our Dear Lord has given us extra time...maybe time to reflect more .... maybe time to pray more...maybe time to walk a little longer... maybe time to just listen. Today, I went on my morning walk and took these pictures because our Dear Lord gave me extra time!  I also had time to find a poem to complement the photos. What a beautiful world God has given us!
~ Anne Phillips
I always know that God loves me

I feel it in a million ways

I see it in His rainbows

On sunny and rainy days

He nurtures all of His creations

He is so proud of every one

But there is one thing that I notice

In springtime's blazing sun

It's like a heavenly palette

With colors bright and true

After the cold harsh winters

God brings treasures to me and you

It's His way of showing us His love

With fragrances wafting in the air

He knows winter can be harsh

So with His flowers He will share

He shows there is hope in tomorrow

With these sweet blooms that He brings

And raises up our spirits high

How I love God's colorful spring!

An invitation for you, from Presiding Bishop Curry

Habits of Grace:

As we learn how to adjust our lives given the reality of the coronavirus and the request to do our part to slow its spread by practicing social distancing, I invite you to join me each week to take a moment to cultivate a ‘habit of grace.’ A new meditation will be posted on Mondays through May.
Click here to play this week's message.
Please join me for Evening Prayer on Thursday, April 16, at 7PM.  If you would like to participate, please let me know and I will send you a Zoom link.

Evening Prayer is one of the Daily Offices, and along with Morning Prayer, it places our daily activites in the context of prayer.  Since our services are virtual, praying together is a way for us to be in community until we can return to our church home.

Blessings,
Karen+

Creating a Sacred Space at home for your Holy Week Worship is a great spiritual practice.  You might spend Monday through Wednesday putting this special place in order.

God says he will be with us wherever we go.  Some of Bishop Megan’s suggestions for creating this sacred space:

-Create your sacred space on a table or shelf.
-Add a cloth.
-A Bible
-A Cross
-Bowl of Water
-Candle

You might also have a Book of Common Prayer.  You can spend time there with your Prayer Book, other favorite devotional material, or sitting in Contemplative Prayer.

Meditate with Laurie’s presentation of the Easter Season in picture and word, through art.  This is simple and beautiful!  A really special and uplifting gift.  Don’t miss it!

The Spirit of God will speak to us as we feed on God’s Word in this sacred space.
