Up, Down & Everywhere In Between

BACK IN THE KITCHEN!!!  Hip hip hooray!  Cooking is my anchor, my joy, my home base.  It's like a breath of fresh air to be re-entering the familiar and comforting routine.  And to be offering nourishment to all of you again.  It seems more important than ever, given the added challenges of daily life for so many of us right now.

For those of you who order food, rest assured that we are using ever-vigilant practices to ensure the safety of our customers & crew.  We have plenty of soap and hand sanitizer for our kitchen crew; we have disinfectant spray that we use on surfaces; and all of your glass food containers are sterilized every week in an industrial sterilizer.  We are all wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing.  We have a safety protocol for food deliveries and pick-ups.  Please let me know if you have concerns or questions, or would like further details.

Now back to the joys!  I'm so pleased to announce the launch of our new ordering system, master-minded by maestro and angel Robert P.  Amy calls it a masterpiece!  Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties or confusing moments.  Robert and I are here to help you through; give me a call at (413) 634-5659 if you have troubles.

During the Covid-19 pandemic our menus will be a bit leaner due to the extra time required for our safety protocols and to a smaller crew because of increased physical distancing.  We're still proud to offer an abundance of choices.  Let me know if there are some old favorites you're longing for!

We have a GREAT OPPORTUNITY while supplies last.  I procured some fabulous Vermont-made cheeses at rock-bottom prices.  One of our distributors had a LOT of excess supply due to school and restaurant closings.  These cheeses normally retail for $25-30 per pound and we're offering them for the unbeatable price of $5.00 per 1/2 lb. wedge.  Every single one is delicious (yep, I take my responsibility seriously and tasted them all!).  Give them a try; they're all on the order form.  Here's a brief description of each:

* Riley's Coat - very firm and dense, yet satiny.  Beautiful, full and well-rounded flavor profile.
* Chin Clip - a classic tomme - firm, dry, flaky, nutty w/super pleasant sharp lingering flavor.
* Forerunner - semi-soft, lovely pungent and earthy flavor with a creamy texture.
* Halfpipe - firm with a sweet, nutty and lactic flavor and a slightly sharp delightful aftertaste.
* Inspiration - washed rind (w/Vt. beer!), creamy paste with crystalline texture; robust and delicious.
* Sugar Slalom - creamy yet firm; bold flavor with pleasant lingering grassy aftertaste
* Sunrise - rind washed with Lake Champlain cocoa & olive oil.  Exceptional tart flavor, chalky & firm.

That's it for now.  I send my deepest hopes that you and your loved ones remain healthy and safe, and that we all allow moments of gentleness and joy to wash over us.  Breathe in the clean spring air, get lost in the beauty of the blossoms opening all around us, revel in the joyous bird song, and enjoy a glorious moment of stillness.
