Take a moment to breathe with me.  Sit comfortably with your back straight and your chest lifted.  Visualize a 5 point star. Breathe in through your nose slowly and deeply as you trace one leg of the star beginning on the top.  (You can trace in the air, on a hard surface, or in your mind.) Exhale slowly as you trace the next leg of the star. Continue to breathe in and out slowly until you have returned to the top of the star for a total of 5 breaths in and 5 breaths out.  Notice how you feel.

How are you?  My hope is that you are happy and healthy.  Please, share with me what you are doing to maintain your health, happiness, and routines.    mecira@cps.edu

Have you set your goal today?

Now, more than ever, setting a daily goal is critical because it provides purpose and direction.  While there is comfort in being home, there is also uncertainty and frustration. And… there is procrastination.  To be honest, I have not cleaned one closet yet, nor have I cleaned the garage or painted a room. The first few days at home, I barely left the couch.

Start each day with a goal that ensures activity, motivation and accomplishment.

(I’ve attached a daily goal challenge...give it a try and let me know how it goes.)

STAY CONNECTED

Social distancing may have changed how we interact with each other, but it hasn’t changed why we need each other.   Our tribe, crew, group makes us feel good.

How are you letting those important people in your life know you are thinking of them?  How are you connecting?

Try something new- hand write a note, create a piece of art and give it to someone special, or bake something sweet for someone sweet.

Other ideas?
