YAW Family - We are here for you during this time.
Auditions may have slowed down, but we want to help
keep you proactive and engaged!
FRIDAY CAFE
 
We invite you to show off your skills and mingle with classmates in our virtual talent show! During this time, participants will be able to showcase a monologue, sing a favorite song, play an instrument, do a dance, read a poem or whatever your heart desires! No stress or pressure for performance - this is intended to be a fun and relaxed experience! 25 slots available, up to 2 minute time slot each. We will be hosting these every Friday for the next few months! Please send what you will be performing in advance to emily@Johndaquino.net 
We will be recording each session for viewing if participants want a copy :) If you would like to just watch and not participate, please email Emily and you will be added to the viewing list. All ages welcome.

SELF TAPES - 4 WEEK CLASS W/ SHANE BRADY! 
DATE: Fridays, first class April 3rd
TIME: 12:00pm-2:00pm PST
AGES: All ages
CAPACITY: 16
This class will focus on how to improve your current self tape setup, and go over the tips and tricks to improve your overall quality of performance in front of the camera, and final edited product! Students will pre-self-tape their performance before our class. Shane will observe and give notes, then go over select tapes in a class setting showing video examples of things that were done correctly, and things that can be improved.
STAND UP - 4 WEEK CLASS W/ ESTHER KU!
DATE: Thursdays, first class April 9th
TIME: 12:00pm-3:00pm PST
AGES: 10-12

Topic Include:
- Learning the mechanics of writing jokes for a stand-up comedy routine
- Creating / workshopping jokes in front of a virtual audience of peers
- Assembling a set list for future showcases / talent shows
- Customizing material to your real life
- Creating funny content for Youtube and Instagram
- Preparing to perform for a live audience

NEW! JOHN D'AQUINO'S COURSE FOR AGES 16+
A four-week acting course that guarantees to make you a better actor.
 
Acting Interrogation is a technique, developed by John D’Aquino, that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond versus how they respond to a line of dialogue they were anticipating. This technique illuminates human traits that you use every day that you may not understand how to employ in your work. The great thing is, you’re already doing it! You’re just not bringing it to your work. Over four weeks, students will learn the technique and apply to their work.

On week four, we will host a virtual showcase and John will invite a Los Angeles based industry guest to join and offer observations.
