Cambodia Trip 2019

Last December, 25 JFSC students and four staff joined Pinja and the rest of the RAW Impact team for 12 days of hard work, sightseeing, friendly locals, khmer curry, bike rides along the Mekong, and a sleep out...there was so much to love about the trip.  Read more...

Achievement Assembly

The annual JFSC Achievement Assembly was held on Tuesday 11 February 2020 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the students throughout 2019. Congratulations to all the award winners on their fantastic achievements during 2019.  See a list of winners here.

Bush Rangers Explore South West's Wonders

The final Bush Rangers outing for 2019 saw the Cadets travel to the cooler region of Busselton and the South West. Following the drive south and a quick stop at camp to unload the bus, the cadets embarked on their first activity at Xcape at Dunsborough.  Read more...

Bush Rangers Nora Hughes Water Monitoring Project

For our first activity for Term 1 2020 (which also happened to be the last for the term) the JFSC Bush Ranger cadets have started to look at water quality, focussing on the lake at Nora Hughes Park. Read more...

Year 7s jump into High School

During week 1 this term the Year 7 students complete a week long Induction Program and Peer Support sessions to introduce them to life as a high school student.  During the Induction Program students participated in a variety of workshops including a College campus and Library tours, Planner use, Digital Citizenship, Intro to IT, Note Taking, Academic Honesty, Study Timetable, Integrity and Goal Setting. Year 7 Activity Day 2020

Grey clouds and the occasional spot of drizzle didn’t stop the Year 7 students as they participated in the annual Year 7 Activity Day on Friday 28 February. This was a full-on day with students rotating through a variety of activities including a Silent Disco, Bubble Soccer and “Minute to Win it” competitions such as Face the Cookie, Dice Balance, Under Over and Junk in the Trunk. On the 9 of December 2019 a group of 11 John Forrest students boarded the direct flight to Tokyo, buzzing with the anticipation of experiencing Japan. Illustrator draws inspiration for students

On Monday 16 March students from Year 8 were privileged to receive a visit from children's author and illustrator James Foley. HASS

Tectonic plates add tasty dimension to learning

In Week 6, Year 8 students from Ms Rowe’s HASS class took a tasty approach to learning about the different types of plate tectonic action. Using icing as the mantel and milk coffee biscuits as the plates, students were able to simulate transforming, divergent, convergent and subducting types of movement. Students found this an engaging, interactive and helpful way to learn about the topic. Read more...

Inter-House Swimming Carnival

Wind and rain didn’t put a dampener on proceedings as students from Years 7 to 12 took to the water on Thursday 27 February for the annual JFSC Inter-House Swimming Carnival. The competition was fierce as every student who participated gave it their all with their fellow students cheering them on. A highly enjoyable (if damp) day for all involved. See gallery here.

Netball Academy Day 2020

Netball students celebrated the College "Netball" school year by attending our annual Academy Day event. Held at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre, students had the opportunity to participate in fitness classes including Body Attack and Boot-Camp Circuit. Read more...

Year 12s sample University Science

On the 13 of February, the Year 12 Chemistry and Physics ATAR students were given the opportunity to visit the University of Western Australia campus to explore the wonderful world of science. Students got to see first-hand what the educational journey looks like outside of our traditional High School walls. Read more...

ConocoPhillips Science Experience 2019

At the end of 2019 four Year 9 Students attended the ConocoPhillips Science Experience 2019. This four-day event included lab sessions, workshops and lectures by expert speakers in various science field including mining, agriculture, energy, environment, health & medicine and space & technology. This extraordinary opportunity also allowed students to glimpse what University level science could have in store for them. Read more...

Valentine's day of love for the Heart Foundation

Love and friendship were in the air on Friday 14 February as Prefects organised and delivered various tokens of affection to students for Valentine’s Day.

Thank you for everyone’s support and congratulations to the Prefects for raising over $270.00 for the Heart Foundation Australia.

Prefects help plan City of Bayswater

On Monday 9 March, the prefects gathered in the library with two representatives from the City of Bayswater Council. We discussed plans for improving the City of Bayswater over the next 10 years. Read more...
The College would like to congratulate the following students on their recent achievements.

Trinity Stacey - congratulations on placing 1st in Class 8 (Extreme 4x4) and 3rd in Class 7 (Production 4x4) at the State Round of the Off Road Racing at Perenjori in early March.  Stacey was a co-driver in the event.
