African Storybook remains your reading partner during the worldwide collective pause. We bring you multilingual picture storybooks for children's reading pleasure.
Last week we brought you Activity 2 which was about the African Storybook Reader App and the access it gives you to our extensive library of picture storybooks. You can access African Storybook resources for your children using your mobile phone or tablet. This week for Activity 3 we look at different types of African Storybook Guides, which will help you to navigate our platforms and use our resources successfully.

  •  The African Storybook website has three types of Guides and these are Video Guides, How to Guides and In-depth Guides
  • The Guides help the user to use the website optimally, discover resources available and explore the use of the picture storybooks
  • The Guides are easily available when you click the HELP section on the website

African Storybook has offered workshops for teachers, student teachers in colleges and universities, early childhood development educators, and community librarians. Understanding Open Education Resources (OER)

 
Need to know more about Open Educational Resources (OER)? 
There is currently a lot of buzz about OER. Educators being compelled by the argument for using existing OER and releasing their own materials with an open licence.
As a result, the number of resources being shared under an open licence has increased exponentially. In May 2017, Creative Commons estimated that there were 1.4 billion open resources. But, what exactly are OER and do they live up to the hype?
