Brigstow Playcube

We have curated films from individual Brigstow funded research projects that provide an insight into their journeys and ways of researching.

Stand + Stare produced these beautiful Playcubes so that you can enjoy interacting with the films. For the meantime, you are welcome to explore the selection from the comfort of your own home via our online Jukebox.

Reimagine the Diary

Seedcorn 2019

In the link below you’ll find something that one of our interdisciplinary and co-produced research teams have made that we wanted to share with you to use. They have been ‘re-imagining the diary’ and thinking about how diary writing might help to create a reflective space. We love what they have developed and wanted to share it with you to use during times of uncertainty. The diary is designed around three stages that you complete each day: transition, activity, reflect.

Take part in the "I Didn't Buy" project

Concerned about the climate crisis, plastic, deforestation, or any other aspect of sustainabilty? The I Didn't Buy project is holding a new round of online 1-1 interviews to ask the public how we can best empower them with online support for shopping sustainably.

They want to hear the experiences and views of a diverse range of people, including BAME, the disabled, LGBTQ+, working class - and males, who are also underrepresented in this context.
More info and apply to take part in I didn't Buy

There's a reward of a £20 voucher for those who participate.

Creative in Quarantine

How can we help people with dementia stay creative and connected during social distancing?

The UK Dementia Meeting Centres support people living with mild-to-moderate dementia and their families, helping them to cope with the transitions that dementia brings. Current guidance on reducing Coronavirus transmission has led to the Meeting Centres being suspended, with members now following social distancing measures. We're looking for bold new ideas and partnerships to help Centre members and their families stay creative and socially connected over the coming months. If you just want to share an idea for an activity or partnership (however big or small), we’d love to hear from you. Equally, if you have a concrete project proposal that we decide to take forward together, then we will find the resources to make it happen.

Crafting During Coronavirus

Naomi Clarke is a PhD student interested to hear any stories in relation to your crafting experiences and how you feel before, during and after crafting during COVID19 .

First, her research aims to explore the role of craft during COVID19. Secondly, it aims to build a bespoke and interactive website to support craft, connections, occupation and wellbeing during COVID19 where people can take ownership/authorship of their crafting through recording and sharing their ‘Crafting During Coronavirus’ experiences, celebrating their achievements, having purposeful, creative activities with tangible outcomes, and connecting with like-minded individuals.

Find more information about her project "crafting during coronavirus and how to take part here.
