Even in the midst of the COVID-19 shutdown we can still act to encourage climate action in Peterborough.

The City of Peterborough is gathering input for the 2021 Budget and what to do with expected proceeds of the PDI sale. The emergency of reacting to COVID-19 has forced council to postpone action planned for 2020 on the climate emergency. This is our chance to remind them that this is understandable but that this delay means we now need to redouble our efforts to meet our targets. Let them know that you are willing to see taxes increased to fund this action. Use the comments boxes liberally because the survey does not really highlight the issues in a way that would highlight what is needed.

If the sale of PDI is approved by the OEB it will provide about $50 million. Please use the survey to express your preference to use it to address the climate emergency and related social justice issues.
