We are happy to announce the successful renewal of the Chinese Flagship Grant for the next four years. This federal grant funds undergraduate scholarship and innovative resources for language and culture immersion, study abroad, and overseas internships in China. We are grateful for the essential support we have received during the application process from the Office of Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Karen Hanson, the Office of Dean Coleman, the Language Center, the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA), and the Institute of Global Studies.
Funded by the new grant, the Chinese Flagship program will continue to work with leaders and partners across the university, and remain committed to advanced language and culture training for undergraduate students in all colleges and degree plans.
Currently, thanks to the immense support from the university, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Asian and Middle Eastern Studies department, the program is able to provide continuous financial, educational, and administrative support to students who returned from their overseas capstone year. The ongoing uncertainties only remind us of the interconnectedness of our world and the ever growing significance of our internationalization mission.
We look forward to serving the goal of nurturing global professionals in the years to come.
