WELCOME

Hey Friends! I hope this newsletter finds you healthy and hanging in there. This feels like a weird time to send out a newsletter, but I have a few project updates, some commission info and other fun stuff, so please read on!

GOOD NEWS GIVEAWAY

Last newsletter, we included a give away for some Advance Readers Copies of Fire Power and Jonna! Thank you to everyone who entered - we loved reading your good news! Winners have been notified and books shipped!

PROJECT UPDATES

As you may know, Fire Power, the Skybound series I'm working on with Robert Kirkman was supposed to launch next month on Free Comic Book Day with a prelude graphic novel (cover above!) coming out this month. Now with FCBD on hold, the launch of Fire Power is currently up in the air, but as soon as we have news to share on that front we'll let you know!

In the meantime, you can still pre-order the graphic novel at your local comic shop (Diamond code FEB200019) . If you don't have a local comic shop, it can also be pre-ordered on Amazon or Barnes & Noble or Powells or your bookstore of choice.

As you may also know, Jonna and The Unpossible Monsters, the series I'm writing (with Laura) and drawing at Oni Press was supposed to launch in June. Here's the update from Oni:

Due to interruptions in supply chains, temporary store closures, and market instability, Oni has temporarily suspended distribution of books/comics until it is safe for businesses to return to normal and supply chains open again. That means, while we're still working furiously on the adventures of Jonna & Rainbow, we have had to postpone their actual debuts until after things get back to a more normal way of life, and the distribution channel is restored.

We'll keep you updated on Jonna once we know more!

COMMISSION UPDATE

The one bright side to having my projects pushed back is that it allows me a little more breathing room in my schedule, so I've decided to open for a very limited number of commissions. Commission spots will go on sale Tuesday, April 14th at 11 am central time. All the info can be found in my store listing - please read the entire listing prior to purchasing a commission. I expect to have all commissions completed by the end of the year - once a commission is purchased Laura will email you to confirm and give you the approximate month of delivery. Please allow about a week for this email to confirm.

For this round, shipping will be US only (sorry, sorry!). Also, as stated in the listing, I will only be accepting requests regarding character and costume. Please do not ask for specific background, pose, etc.

QUARANTAINMENT

Quarantine hasn't meant extra free time for me (still working with three kids at home) but here are a few thing I've been enjoying while I work!

1980's anime has been my pandemic coping mechanism.

Haywire has the best choreographed and most realistic fight scenes I've seen in any movie recently. If you haven't seen it - check it out - it's currently on Netflix!
